yoeterans of Foreign Wars, Jess E. Taylor Post 2003 was formed in 1945 by local veterans returning from war.

Our meetings are held at the Colfax Memorial Hall, 22 Sunset Circle on the first Tuesday of every month at 6:00 P.M. Meeting are open to members, qualified prospective members and invited guests.
We host a breakfast on the second Sunday of every month at the hall from 8:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. The breakfast includes 2 eggs and all you can eat pancakes with ham, sausage, coffee and orange juice.
The cost is seven dollars for adults, five dollars for children under twelve, a family of 4 or more in $24.
Proceeds go to support local veterans, current service members and their families. Additionally, in conjunction with VFW Post 2003 Auxiliary we provide awards to first Responders and teachers as well as scholarships to local school children.

~ Distribution of Remembrance Poppies for Memorial Day and Veterans Day
~ Participation in placement of flags on veterans' graves for Memorial Day and Veterans Day
~ Memorial Day services at local cemeteries Annual POW-MIA ceremony
~ Placement of commemorative headstones on local veteran's graves
~ Scholarships for patriotism, citizenship, and community service
~ Quarterly community dinners

The Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States (VFW) is a congressionally chartered (Title 36 USC Chapter 2301) war veterans organization in the United States. Headquartered in Kansas City, Missouri, VFW currently has 1.5 million members belonging to 7,644 posts, and is the largest American organization of combat veterans.
OUR MISSION:To foster camaraderie among United States veterans of overseas conflicts. To serve our veterans, the military, and our communities. To advocate on behalf of all veterans.
OUR VISION: Ensure that veterans are respected for their service, always receive their earned entitlements, and are recognized for the sacrifices they and their loved ones have made on behalf of this great country.
Membership is open to those serving honorably in the U.S. armed forces in a foreign war or overseas operation recognized by a campaign medal, in Korea after June 30, 1949, and recipients of hostile-fire or imminent danger pay. Veterans of World War II, the Korean, Vietnam, Persian Gulf and Iraq wars, Grenada, Panama, Lebanon, Afghanistan and other expeditionary campaigns, as well as occupation duty, also qualify.
